REOCCURRING PROBLEMS WHEN FILMING

During our recording process i noticed a few problems that kept turning up uninvited. As much as i love to solve a problem, this was not the time or place for it. This will highlight those problems and the possible ways they could be solved.

  • Time keeping: For some strange reason we kept running out of time when filming, which ultimately meant we lost our outdoor light which was extremely unhelpful when we were filming the bike scenes. To improve our time keeping we should try to minimise the amount of disturbances and distractions during filming and also try to start earlier so we get extra time anyway. We also need to allow time for any travel disturbances.
  • Poor Mise en Scene: This may sound crazy but despite us being such excellent media students, we failed to keep good Mise en Scene. When we reviewed our footage it seemed multiple times that someones head would pop up in a shot or a bag would be left in the background. To eradicate this we simply have to be more analytical when filming, making sure that the shot is absolutely perfect before we push that big, red button.
  • Rushed shots: It seemed as the filming process went on, the time spent on each scene decreased. This was because we were rushing to get it done and not staying relaxed like we should do. This meant we couldn't get multiple shots of one scene from different angles to allow us to have variety when it came to editing. To improve this we need to relax when recording as well as stay focus to make sure we can get multiple shots.
