Possibilities for our Final Project


If we were to use this song, we would use it from 0.28 as the music changes there and alters to a urban, grime feel which could be used when the jock enters the scene and bullies the nerd as the music can be part of what symbolises the jocks character. For example, if the nerd is walking down the street and the music changes to this song, it could act as a signal of the jocks' approach to the audience.



If we were to use this song, we would use it from 0.10 and onwards. The reason we chose hip hop music from the 80's is because we wanted our film look as though it was set in the 80's, due to our inspiration from Napoleon Dynamite. We thought the film would be played when the nerd is riding to school, almost to give a false representation of him - to make him look cool, although he is the complete opposite. The nerd listens to music like this as a way to persuade himself that he is cool because of the music he listens to, regardless of how he dresses, acts, etc.



We were inspired by the opening of Juno. We thought this would represent the nerd's unconventional character as his character is the complete opposite of socially constructed as is this song. This song is nothing you'd hear on tv or on the radio. We thought this song would be used as he rides through the neighbourhood as it portrays his jolly and goofy attitude/state of mind.


We thought we would use this music as he is being bullied by the jocks or while he is being chased as it sets a rough, negative atmosphere to the audience, connoting the upcoming negativity with the jocks. We thought we would use this song as a motif to represent the jocks presence so that the audience know when his presence is due. This music also illustrates the rough, aggressive nature of the jock.
